Graduated from Leningrad theatric institute (1965), faculty of stage direction, class of A. Muzil and A. Kutsman. In 1964—1968 — Krasnoyarskii TYS head director, 1968—1975 — director of Karelskii russian dramatic theatre.

Since 1975 — art director of creative variety art atelier at Lenconcert (until 1983) and SPb. Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography estrade master of actors and directors course.

In 1983 on a base of his graduate course created theatre «Buff», each five years reman and renew collective by his graduate classes. Educationalist and director talent, being happily united with an organisator’s faculty allow Shtokbant for a second deccenary successful «holding» theatre, invariably attracting public despite its farness from downtown.
